It is hard to believe we are about to enter April and the final weeks of Term 1 2025. After another big week we face down the last two weeks of the term. This week we have had an excursion to Canberra, a netball gala today, school photos, GWS and Brumbies training sessions and a whole lot of learning for students and staff. We only have 9 days left of school this term and we will continue to make the most of them. A reminder that Friday 11th April is a pupil free day as staff will be completing professional development and a planning day.

Harmony Day
This year, Project Compassion highlights inspiring stories that showcase the power of partnership.
- Toefuata'iga from Samoa: In a region affected by water scarcity, Toefuata'iga's primary school faced significant challenges. Through the support of Caritas Australia, the school now has a sustainable water supply, ensuring that students can learn and thrive without the burden of water shortages.
- Lam from Vietnam: Born with a disability, Lam encountered societal stigma and limited opportunities. With assistance from Caritas Australia, he accessed education and vocational training, empowering him to overcome barriers and inspire his community.
- Irene from the Democratic Republic of the Congo: Facing instability and poverty, Irene struggled to provide for her family. Through Caritas Australia's partnership, she gained skills in sewing and farming, enabling her to earn a steady income and mentor other women, fostering a ripple effect of empowerment in her community.
These powerful stories remind us that through partnership, we can be vessels of Christ's love, bringing hope and tangible change to vulnerable people and communities in need.
As a faith community, we are called to stand together in partnership, love and generosity. Through your participation in Project Compassion – whether through prayer, fasting, almsgiving and/or fundraising – you become a partner in change, walking alongside our brothers and sisters around the world.
Together, we can transform lives and bring the Gospel’s message of love and justice to life as we Unite Against Poverty this Lent.

Can Assist Donation
Our School Captians Josh and Willow present our local Cootamundra Can Assist with a donation of $518.75 from our last Uniform Free Day. Sacred Heart makes a donation twice a Term to a worthy organisation chosed by our Studen Leadership Team, thanks to the generosity of our parents and students.
Yr 9/10 Food Technology students experienced authentic Italian Fettuccine Carbonara this week.

Cross Country
Our apologies for the delayed notice. We now have confirmation that the Cross Country can go ahead on Friday, 4th April at the Cootamundra Golf Course. We will be based at the Country Club Oval.
Students need to be at the oval by 8:50. If students catch a bus, they can get off at Cootamundra High School, and a staff member will be there to walk them across the road to the oval. If students need to be dropped at school, we can shuttle them to the Country Club oval with our school's minibus.
Sports uniform is to be worn with a splash of house colours. Please remember hats, lots of water and packed lunches.
There will be a BBQ available, and students will be bussed back to school for afternoon classes.
If parents have some time available from 9:45-12 to assist with the BBQ, or at a checkpoint, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Please contact wendy.vankerkoerle@cg.catholic.edu.au or megan.withers@cg.catholic.edu.au .
Thank you in advance.

Well done on your sportsmanship and commitment.
CG Netball Championships
On Tuesday, 25 March 2025, Sacred Heart School took three teams to compete in the Canberra Goulburn Netball Championships in Canberra. Our Year 7-10 Boys team, Year 7/8 Girls team, and Year 9/10 Girls team showcased fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
With a total of 16 games played under the warm autumn sun, our students gave their all on the court, demonstrating skill, resilience, and great camaraderie. It was a fantastic day of competition, and all teams represented Sacred Heart with pride.
