The end of the term is now only hours away and we are limping to the holidays with the news that Young has just been sent into lockdown for the next few weeks. We wait anxiously to see what the implications will be for us and we hope that we will escape unscathed. We are hopeful that the holidays will allow everyone the opportunity to rest and reenergise after a very, very big term. This past term saw many people navigate challenging situations and cope with new and unfamiliar situations. We are very appreciative of parents, students and staff efforts to make the most out of what this term has thrown at us and we are grateful that we have been given the opportunity this past week to reconnect and check in with students and their families after a torrid few weeks. We hope and pray that this will all be behind us and that we can return in Term 4 to some level of normality. On the calendar the first day of Term 4 was to be a pupil-free day for staff Professional Development but we have decided not to proceed with this and return to school at the first opportunity which is Tuesday 5th October.
It was remiss of me to not mention last week that Mrs Anita Chesworth has returned to school after maternity leave. Year 2 are very excited to have her back in the classroom and she will continue to share the class with Mrs Fry. We thank Mrs MacIver for all she did over the six months she was with her and we hope that will see her again soon. We also farewell Mrs Tulenew today after the completion of her 10 week internship position with Stage 2W. It has been so lovely to have Marie as part of our school community again and we know that she will have a long and exciting careers ahead of her.
Over the holiday break I will endeavour to keep the school community up-to-date with directives for Term 4 and what will be happening when we return. Please keep an eye out for any schoolzine communications.
Term 4 promises so much and we hope we can enjoy every moment that we have planned – transitions, Graduations, Awards, Work Experience, learning, sport and so much more. Please stay safe over the holiday break and look after each other. There is no greater time than now to be kind to each other.
God Bless! Stay well.

John 15:11-17
11 “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you. 13 The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them. 14 And you are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I do not call you servants any longer, because servants do not know what their master is doing. Instead, I call you friends because I have told you everything I heard from my Father. 16 You did not choose me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures. And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name. 17 This, then, is what I command you: love one another
