This week we were able to hold our Annual Athletics Carnival on one of the coldest days this year. Despite the chilly conditions it was a very successful carnival and it was a lovely school community event. This is only the second time that we have held a K-10 carnival with the entire student body and it was so wonderful to see the enthusiastic effort and interactions between all our students. It was also so lovely to have so many parents/grandparents drop in to support their children. Mercy was the winning house for 2021 and we congratulate all students for their participation and efforts. Surely it is O’Shaughnessy’s year next year!!!!
We have made it to the end of Week 7 and many are struggling with the winter colds and flus. We still do encourage those who are sick to stay home from school to prevent the spread. We also encourage students to dress sensibly (whilst still adhering to the school uniform), bring a water bottle and sufficient tissues if they require them. We are still abiding by the COVID protocols of social distance and personal hygiene. We routinely clean and sanitise desks and still have hand sanitiser in each classroom to support positive personal hygiene.
Don’t forget if you are planning to enrol children please contact the Front Office to book an appointment or lodge the online enrolment form available on our website. In our planning for 2022 we also need to be aware of any students who will/may not be returning. Again, if you could please contact me on 69422612 it would be greatly appreciated.
We only have a week left for parents to participate in the annual school feedback survey. The “Tell Them From Me® (TTFM®) survey will provide us with valuable feedback on what our community think about school life, how engaged students are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with students and parents. Schools in Australia and around the world have used the Tell Them From Me survey to help them improve. The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Parents have the option to complete the survey in the next week. Please logon to the following URL and complete the survey.

This coming week, Thursday 10 June, our Year 10 students will be travelling to Murrumbatemen for their annual retreat. This is an opportunity for them to celebrate their own personal faith journey with their peers along with Year 10 students from Tumut and Temora. We thank Mrs Maxwell for her organisation and please keep our senior students in your prayers as they participate in this important faith formation.
Our primary teachers are in the process of making contact with all parents about the progress, achievements and developments of all students. This is an important opportunity for teachers to share what is happening in the classroom and future directions for each child. These conversations will support the Semester Reports that will be released at the end of the semester and help to explain the grades, outcomes and engagement with learning criteria.
Thank you to all families who have made a commitment to our Semester One fees. We appreciate that this involves sacrifice and an investment in your child’s future. The Term 2 fees are now overdue and if you are experiencing difficulty in making this payment please contact me at school asap. It is far more important for me to be informed about any challenges or your current situation in regards to outstanding fees, rather than let it get away and the amount owing builds. This is a confidential matter that is best resolved with a conversation.
Yesterday our Year 10 Mock Trial team were victorious over St John the Evangelist College, Nowra. Our current team is dedicated and very enthusiastic about their involvement in the state-wide competition. They were very impressive in their decisive win over much older and more experienced rivals. They continue our illustrious history of success in this prestigious competition. A more detailed report and photos in next week’s newsletter.
Today our Infants students led a beautiful and reverent liturgy celebrating our Mother Mary as the patroness of Australia. It was so beautiful to see our littlest students participate in all of the different roles in the liturgy. Thank you to all the families who joined us and to the dedicated teachers who prepared and inspired their students.

Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all our students who were involved in our Athletics carnival. Thankyou for your participation and enthusiasm when competing and/or when assisting with the many roles that needed filling. We had so many offers to help and not enough jobs to go around. We really appreciate your efforts.
Thank you very much to the parents that volunteered their day to assist with running some of the events. Thank you also to the parents who watched and supported our students, and for abiding by the COVID sign-in requirements. It was great to have spectators again after the quiet carnival last year. It turned out to be a cold but very successful day.
