Cyber Security
Secondary students in Pastoral on Fridays have been learning about Cyber Security. In today’s newsletter I am including some information for parents that would be very useful not only for your secondary aged children, but primary too. Attached is a Cyber Security Cheat Sheet that Kirra from Safe on Social developed, with many ideas that she briefly touched on during her visit in March.
As she suggests we can become complacent thinking “it wont happen to me”. However, as we are all connected to the internet, everyone is potentially vulnerable to Cyber attack.
Please take the time to check that you and your children have adopted the measure she outlines on the Cheat Sheet.
We spend much time ensuring that the security of our personal valuables like cars and homes are protected so lets get Cyber healthy too and ensure that we don’t fall prey to a virus, scam, malware, ransomware or a virus.
It covers – Password Management; keeping device software up to date; avoiding suspicious emails and phone calls; protecting sensitive data; devise management such as backing up data, unattended devices and safe use.
Kind Regards
