Faith Matters
- Parish Sacramental Formation for First Eucharist and Reconciliation:
We wish to thank the parish Sacramental Formation Team for their work with the Year 4 students and their families. Many thanks to Mr Dan O’Brien who has created and written the course which has been engaging and contemporary. His passion for assisting our students on their faith journey is gratefully appreciated. Also many thanks to his team – Natalee Litchfield, Emma McDonnell, Aileen Maher, Lisa Buchanan, Kate Maher, Kerry Murphy, Kerrie Kostrubic and John Patterson who assisted on Thursday evenings and supported the students at this time as well as Saturday evening mass.
The formation is drawing to its conclusion with the Twilight Retreat this afternoon, supported by our Year 10 Youth Ministry students – Taylah Dickinson, Lauren Mays, Sianne Marsay-Turner, Ella Murphy and Tyson Smith. The conferring of the Sacraments takes place for Reconciliation on Thursday 22nd March at 7pm and the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Saturday 24th March at 6pm. Everyone is most welcome to attend. Please keep these students and their families in your prayers.

- Year 1 Reflection Day:
Year 1 attended their Reflection Day yesterday, on “Our God and his Creation”. They are a delightful and energetic group of students who participated with great enthusiasm. They went home very happy and relaxed and commented at the end of the day, "We just did so many things" and "This was the best day ever". They are a very happy group of children.
- Project Compassion:
Thank you to the families who have already sent in their project compassion boxes. We are up to Week 4 in Lent and our message to the students is a very simple one -
Lent is about preparing for Christ’s coming at Easter and a time for us to practice Prayer (talking and listening to God), Fasting (giving up something and offering it up or give the money saved to help another) and Almsgiving (giving to others from our time or talents). We are not asking the student or their family to fill the box. Just a meaningful and small contribution from each student or family, from following one of the practices of Lent, could provide some excellent help to Caritas’s project compassion appeal. We hope you can support your children in this project.
Yours in Faith
