Principal's Message
Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 20 March) 14 students made their First Reconciliation after a wonderful twilight retreat before the liturgy. Archer Sutherland, Connor Winsor, Blake Smiith, Blake England, Faith Roberts, Evie McPherson, Zoe Last, Emmeline Last, Jackson Frost, Jake Hughes, William Heritage, Matt Peru, Steeve Zante and Cooper Vitnell reverently entered into the Sacrament led by Fr Lolesio and celebrated their Faith journey. It was a poignant liturgy that focused on the Lord’s Prayer as a means to see how forgiveness is an important part of maturing in our faith. Thank you to Mrs Maxwell, Ms Sutherland, Mrs Gammon, Mr Winsor and MS Van Kerk Oerle for their guidance and to Sr Kathy and Fr Lolesio for their wisdom and leadership. We are truly blessed to have these wonderful people in our Parish and School. The candidates will now make their First Eucharist on Saturday evening at the Vigil Mass. Please continue to pray for these young people as they make an important commitment to their faith.
Last Friday evening’s P & F Annual Colour Run was a resounding success. According to all reports it was enormous fun and the photos bear testament to that fact. Thank you to our loyal P & F who once again generously provided an opportunity to families in our community to gather and to raise funds for our Building Refurbishment. We are planning to purchase a range of soft furnishings to enhance the learning spaces and we are grateful to the P & F for their continued support.
Next week is photo day. Please remember that NORMAL uniform rules apply to hair, makeup, jewellery and accessories. SIBLING photo orders need to be completed online by TUESDAY 25 MARCH. All other orders can be finalised the day after photo day. Let’s pray that the weather is fine.
NAPLAN is over! Done and dusted for another year. Thank you to Ms Marsay for her organisation and patience in navigating the technology issues and absent students. Year 7 will celebrate and travel to Canberra on Monday for a HSIE excursion. They will get to explore the Pompeii exhibit, a First Nations Art work exhibit, Questacon to explore earth science and see some of the sights of Canberra. They should have a fabulous day. Safe travels.
With only three weeks left until the Easter break our Year 9 students are busy preparing for the traditional Passion Play. This is a highlight of our school calendar and we grateful for the efforts of staff and students who offer this beautiful prayer each Easter. We will be viewing the school performance at 10am on Thursday 10 April. Everyone is most welcome.
Please mark on your calendar that Friday 11 April is a pupil free day. Our staff will be spending time in professional development and planning for Term 2.
Remember it does not cost anything to be kind and it is one of the greatest gifts that you can give.
God Bless
Ms Nicky Trinder
