Principal's Message
Week 7 has been and gone and we are in the last stages of Term 3. We have been immersed in planning for 2025 for weeks now and the year is passing quickly. The days are growing longer and the weather (on some days) is absolutely glorious. So much is happening in the final weeks of Term 3. Tomorrow will be the new iteration of the Wattle Time Fair and our staff and students will join in the parade. Thank you to Mrs Maxwell and her generous band of helpers who have prepared the float and organised all the students to join them. See the details below for the information about the float and parade.
The students will be representing the school and therefore are asked to wear their Winter school uniform. Safety is at the forefront of planning this activity and strict guidelines will be adhered to. The tray of the truck will be lined with gates, students will be required to sit and a number of staff members will be supervising on the truck and walking beside the truck.
Please complete the consent form on COMPASS if you would like your child to participate in the parade.
Date: Saturday 7th September 2024
Location: Marshalling will take place near the skate park in Bourke Street. Once the parade is complete students can be collected from Jubilee Park
Time: Marshalling 9:30am (Bourke Street)
Parade Starts 10:30
Parade concludes 11:00am (Jubilee Park)
Thank you to the students, staff and families who joined the parish for the Saturday vigil mass last week. It was so lovely to see so many families and our students who led the ministries were outstanding in their reverence and confidence.
Yesterday we celebrated our amazing Classroom Support Assistants, in recognition of all they do to support our students and our teachers. We are blessed with the very best and our students are definitely so very lucky to have the support and guidance from our CSAs. Thank you to Mrs Kingwill, Mrs Forsyth, Mrs Smith, Ms Bucknell, Mrs Simmons, Mrs Maher and Mrs Sannazzaro who give so generously and enthusiastically to ensure that our students have every opportunity to achieve to the very best of their potential. Sacred Heart is so much more because of the dedication of these fabulous staff.

Week 8 will see our Kindergarten and Year 3 students will have their Reflection Days this week and our Year 10 students will travel to Canberra to join with the young people of the diocese at the Shine Conference. These are wonderful formative experiences for our students to explore their faith and build their understanding of their faith journey. Thank you to Mrs Maxwell and the class teachers who will support this valuable faith formation opportunity.
Our 2025 Kindergarten cohort will begin their orientation program this coming Thursday. From 9am ‘til 11am our newest students will spend time in the Infants’ space familiarising themselves with the campus, the routines and their classmates. At 11am the parents will join us to have a morning tea to connect with other parents and meet the staff. We are busy completing all the Kindergarten enrolments and it has been lovely to meet the new students, new families and showcase all that Sacred Heart has to offer.
Our Student Leadership teams are busy preparing the discos for next Thursday night 12th September. All tickets are to be purchased at school and the staff will supervise both discos at the Ex-Services Club. Our students love the chance to dress up, dance and enjoy each other’s company. Thank you to Mr Winsor, Ms Buchanan and the teachers for their support.
Remember – Kindness is Cool!
God Bless
Ms Nicky Trinder
