From the Principal
Yamandhu….hello in Wiradjuri.
Today was a glorious day and we can feel Spring is just around the corner. We are finding that students are still coming to school all rugged up with all their jumpers and coats and as the day warms up we are finding lots of uniform pieces left around the school playground. Please make sure that all uniform pieces are clearly labelled with a student’s name.
Today we celebrated the ‘Family’ prayer service under the leadership of our Infants students. It was a special celebration that recognized the important role that our families are in our students’ lives. It was so lovely to see so many parents and families join the whole school to pray for our families and all that they do for us.
Yesterday our Kindergarten students celebrated 100 days of learning. It was delightful to see the joy that our children shared with their families at such a special time in their school journey. We hope that they will continue to be excited by school and their learning and always share the wonders of their discoveries and progress with the important people in their lives.
On Tuesday 8th August we will host our second parent information session regarding Kindergarten for 2024. If you know anyone who is considering enrolling or is ‘looking around’ please encourage them to join us on Tuesday night in the Infants Breakout Space at 6pm.
Staffing considerations for 2024 are currently under discussion at Catholic Education in Canberra. To support our staffing requests we would like to provide an accurate number of enrolments for the next academic year. If parents are considering discontinuing their child’s enrolment with us in the new year we would like you to make contact with the school to discuss your intentions. Likewise if there are additional enrolments for any class across the school we would love to talk to those interested.
Next Thursday 10 August the Secondary Student Leadership Team are planning to host a disco for all secondary students at the local Ex-Servicemen’s Club from 7pm ‘til 9pm. All tickets have to be pre-bought by Monday 7th August from the Student Leadership Team. They will need to sell at least 70 tickets to make the event viable. Please encourage your child to purchase their ticket on Monday if they are intending to attend the disco. Thank you to our leadership Team for their initiative and to our staff for their supervision .
This coming Thursday 10th August there will be a Requiem Mass celebrated in the Church at 2.30pm. This will necessitate that the funeral attendees will park in Morris St and down Thompson St where families normally park to collect students at the end of the day. You will need to make alternative arrangements for collection on Thursday afternoon. The funeral will not disperse until after 3.30pm
Please remember that the SCHOOL TIE is part of the school uniform. We expect that all students wear the school tie with their winter uniform and that they wear it correctly.
Please remember that there is always a reason to be kind and that we may never realise or understand the benefit that it may have to someone’s day if we are kind.
God Bless
Ms Nicky Trinder
Principal
