From the Principal
And so ends Term 2 2023! Thank you to all our staff, students and families for an action-packed term. We could not have crammed another thing into such a busy term but we gave 100% to all that we did and achieved some tremendous results.
If you look back over the newsletters for the term you will note our success at sporting endeavours, academic pursuits and so many other community activities. Thank you to all who supported out students in their enthusiastic endeavours.
We now have the opportunity to relax and refresh ahead of Term 3. Hopefully the two-week break will give all a chance to get over all the illnesses and fatigue that have plagued our final weeks of this term. We are grateful to our small cohort of casual teachers who have been invaluable in making sure all our students continued learning despite staff absences.
Today we farewelled the wonderful Mrs Cooper who is finishing her time with us to spend more time with her family. We wish her every happiness and blessing and hope that she will come back to visit us on a regular basis. We also farewell the Westaway family, especially Toby and Ky as they make the move as a family to Forster (much warmer weather) and thank them for their support of the school. We wish them good fortune and every blessing.
Already we are planning for 2024 and Catholic Education is working our staffing and funding for the next school year. If you know of anyone who is intending to or is interested in enrolling please ask them to contact the school early next term or to email me, nicky.trinder@cg.catholic.edu.au over the holiday break. Likewise if you are considering another school for your student for 2024 could you also please make contact asap.
This afternoon the COMPASS portal will release the Semester One 2023 reports for all students. Please log on to the portal at the conclusion of the school day to access the most recent report. An information letter will be sent out on COMPASS alerting families to the report access. Further information will be sent out over the holiday period about the parent teacher interviews early next term. Please keep an eye out for that information. The reports are a culmination of a lot of hours of teaching, learning, assessment and compiling to accurately represent the progress and development of our students. Thank you to our students for enthusiastically embracing learning opportunities and to our staff for unceasingly providing learning opportunities for our students.
On Monday our Stage 1 students organized and hosted the most wonderful community fete to help support those in need in our community. Please read the report from Mrs Hunt about the motivations and efforts of our youngest students to teach about the selfless care of others. It was impressive to say the least.
We will return in two short weeks ready for more learning. I wish you a happy and restful holiday period and hopefully the weather will pleasant and a little bit warmer. Please take care if you are travelling.
Remember there is always a reason to be kind. Kind to others and kind to yourself is a grateful way to live.
God Bless
Ms Nicky Trinder’
Principal
