Sacred Heart Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 25th May, we will be holding our annual Athletics Carnival at Albert Park. The carnival starts at 8:55 am. Please see the Compass Event for further details and the program is attached.

Due to job changes for the timing gate provider, we no longer have access to timing gates for the Athletics Carnival. Multiple clubs were contacted to see if they could assist with timing gates, but we have had no luck sourcing them. This means we need to use stopwatches to time the races this year.

If you are able to assist with timing, field events, canteen or in any other role we would greatly appreciate it. Please indicate your availability by responding to the questions in the form 'Athletics Carnival Helpers'.

If you have any questions please contact either Wendy or Megan via the contact details below, or respond in the spaces provided in the form.

Thank you in advance.

Primary Sport

CG Rugby trials

We had three students trial for the Canberra Goulburn Rugby team. Well done to Ned Hazlett, Paddy Crawford and Jake Harris.

As a result Ned Hazlett has been selected to represent at the MacKillop trails.

CG Cross Country

Congratulations and good luck to our Cross Country runners who have competed today in Canberra. We will report on their successes next week.

Mortimer Shield

A compass event has been sent out for those students in Stage Three who wish to play in the Mortimer Shield League or League Tag. This year it is played as a Gala Day and there will be no advancements. As a result boys will play 7-a-side, compared to previous years of 13. If you have any questions about this change feel free to email me.

Attendance at Extracurricular Sporting Events

Attending extracurricular sporting events as a Sacred Heart Representative is a privilege not a right. Please be aware that students with poor attendance, behaviour and/or with incomplete tasks and class work will not be allowed to attend these opportunities. For students who are away for any reason or who do attend these opportunities, it is an expectation that missed work is caught up and completed within a reasonable time frame after returning to school.

Representative Trials

Congratulations to Matilda Sannazzaro who was called up to the Southern Country Open Girls Soccer team. Matilda will compete at the NSWCCC Selections on Monday and Tuesday next week. Best of luck Tilly.

CG Soccer Gala Day

Sacred Heart took one mixed team to the CG Soccer on Tuesday and competed in the 7-10 Boys division. They played Hennessy Gold in the first game and lost 2-0, then played Trinity in the second game and won 2-0. The team narrowly missed out on the finals due to a 1 goal difference on a count back. The weather was beautiful and everyone played with great enthusiasm.

Thank you to Mr Ian Goodochkin for coaching and managing the side.
