From the Principal

Today we pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth and all that she achieved over such an impressive life of service. We can take many things from her example of how to live a life that cares for the greater good. Her faith was the foundation on which she lived, “ Throughout my life, the message and teachings of Christ have been my guide and in them I find hope.” Her message of hope is important for all of us and her steadfast witness of faith is inspiring.

Week 8 has come and gone and we are edging closer to the end of Term 3. It has been a mammoth term and staff and students are feeling fatigued and are looking towards the holidays. However, we still have two very productive weeks of learning to go and lots is happening. It is of the utmost importance that our students are getting enough sleep to cope with the last weeks. Good sleep hygiene is vital to a student’s ability to manage throughout the day. Every student needs adequate sleep to be able to learn, interact, be productive and be relational. It is obvious in any classroom when a student has not had enough sleep. This can obviously be due to many factors but the use of electronic equipment close to bedtime is definitely a way to disturb effective sleep patterns.

We appreciate that everyone is insanely busy and we all live hectic, crowded lives. However, we are in desperate need of volunteers to assist in the canteen, especially on Friday. Our canteen does an amazing job at providing an important service and Friday is our busiest day with over 140 lunch orders on an average Friday. Please contact the front office if you could be assist in any way. Also out P & F are keenly seeking assistance for the Wattle Time Fair. We need volunteers to help prepare the pulled pork rolls Friday 16th and serve on the Saturday at Albert Park. We are also seeking donations of goods to increase our profits. If you would like to donate any goods or your time please call the front office on Monday.

A reminder that Catholic Education have again given schools the option to hold pupil free days to compensate for the lost release and planning time due to lack of casual staff and COVID. We have tried to avoid inconveniencing families so we will be holding the pupil free day on the last day of this term – 23 September. This will also allow the students returning from the Stage 5 excursions the opportunity to sleep in after their late night arrivals. Thank

Today let us remember the example of our Queen devoted to duty, steadfast in faith and firm in upholding the teachings of Christ.

God Bless

Ms Nicky Trinder
