Sacred Heart Team Nominations for Gala Days

Summer Biathlon

Last week Brock Holder competed in the Victorian Championships Summer Biathlon.  

This event involves a relay team running a 200m loop, then calming their breathing and heart rate to steady themselves to shoot 5 targets with a rifle. If there is a missed target, the shooter has to run a penalty loop (about 30m) for every missed target, before tagging their team mate for their leg of the relay. Both participants run and shoot twice, then they join to both run the final loop and cross the finish line together. Brock and his team mate from Scotts School, Albury, placed second by only a few seconds.

Brock also came 3rd in ‘Top Shot’ which is a high powered 22 rifle, metal target competition, and practiced with the laser riffle set-up.

CG Netball Gala

Congratulations to the participants in the CG Netball Gala day. There was a mixture of wins and losses. The 7/8 Girls team and one of the 9/10 Girls teams placed 3rd in their pools, narrowly missing the semis. It was a very relaxed and laughter-filled day of netball with a lovely, supportive group of students.
